Thanks for purchasing our one of a kind wood stumps,
this product has made it all the way from Aotearoa
(New Zealand) via Asia to reach you. The New Zealand
native pine material reaches the highest of sustainable
replanting programs and is grown over 20 years and this
is why we offer you a unique large single piece of wood,
no joins or glueing takes place.
For these reasons the natural product has its own
unique characteristics and reacts differently to different
situations.

CRACKING:
We have done everything we can to tame this natural
material, from drying the wood to moisture level which
is stable to most environments, over time these small
cracks may open bigger and when reacting in different
environments, whether dry, wet, hot or cold. The wood is
natural and reacts differently.

BLUEING:
Sometimes you will notice some blueing on the product,
this is due to the natural tenons inside the wood coming
out to the surface, we have treated these at source but
sometimes this may rise to surface again over time. The
material integrity is ok and again, its a large natural
piece of wood.

FINISHING:
We selected to use water based finishing materials with
a hand stained application, this is in keeping with the
natural history, process and look of the product. If you
notice that the small cracks are opening and exposing
the inner natural material then please do the following
1/ Sand all splinters down using a sandpaper (we
recommend 180grit.
2/ Apply a natural oil or water based stain (either black
or natural pine finish) and please apply with a wet cloth
and wipe dry. (please follow the instructions of the stain
supplier).
